“Showtime” for digital health innovations for the future at MEDICA 2023

This year's MEDICA CONNECTED HEALTHCARE FORUM at MEDICA 2023 in Düsseldorf, from November 13 to 16, will feature over 100 startups and 120 expert speakers. The forum, a part of the world's leading medical trade fair, will host various engaging sessions.

One key focus is on outpatient care, aligning with the German Federal Government's commitment to expand outpatient medical services. Experts will discuss modern medical technology's role in this context, emphasizing patient-centered, digital, and sustainable medicine.

The forum covers a wide array of topics, including robotics for daily living assistance, AI in healthcare, and sustainability initiatives in the health sector. It also showcases innovative startups, such as 'Skylabs' and 'Garmin,' offering solutions like 24-hour blood pressure monitoring and remote patient monitoring.

Wednesday's program delves into sustainability in healthcare, with discussions on climate neutrality and a presentation from the startup Resourcify, aiming to create a waste-free future through technological advancement.

Additional sessions explore brain processes, mental health, and neurosciences, presenting cutting-edge approaches to therapeutic uses, including immersive virtual reality for neurorehabilitation.

The forum will also focus on the Health Metaverse, augmented and virtual reality, digital twins, and similar technologies, offering insights into the future of immersive healthcare.

The last day of the forum features presentations on international startups' developments in diagnostics, health monitoring, and discharge management, as well as innovative technologies from German startups, like room decontamination using UV-C light and a "pocket-sized" electron microscope for rapid virus analysis.
